Modules used to Manage Website Users

There are many reasons why you would want to provide website visitors with the opportunity to register to your site or to your mailing list.

Website Users can be allowed to do one or multiple of the following:

  • View content that is only visible by Registered Users or by Website Users who has been assigned a Specific User Roles Be given access to specific functionality:
    • Access to comment on Blogs, Forums
    • Access to Downloadable material such as pricelists or media package
    • Rate or Comment on Photos in the Photo Gallery, Video Clips in the Video Gallery or a Listing within a Directory
    • Edit their own profile on your site
    • Administrative rights to create and manage content and web pages
    • Etc.

People who are registered or opted-in to your mailing list can

  • Register to receive one or multiple of your bulk mails
  • Opt out or unregister to your mailing lists

Account Login
This module allows users to login and register on the website. This module is best used when creating a custom login page with other information, e.g. Hidden content (in a Text/HTML module) that can only be viewed once the person has logged in. read more ...
What's the Difference?

Website Visitor

Website Visitors are those who visit your website. These could include your target markets, target audiences or other interested parties who is just browsing your site or who by accident stumbled onto your site.

Website Users

Website Users are those website visitors that you want to allow to DO certain things on your website. Website Users will be registered website that provides this Website User with a specific User Name and Password. The user will be able to login to your website and view or perform specific actions on your site based on the User Role that the Website User was assigned to.

User Roles

User Roles can be described as types of Website Users. User Roles can be setup to allow all Website Users of that specific User Role to be able to either view or edit content or to perform one or multiple actions on your website. E.g. The administrator role can be assigned to a Website User that will allow that person to manage the website content on the website.
